The storms of this life can be relentless…generating wild, undulating expressions of energy that move along the surface of the water….gathering, pulling, taking more energies from even thousands of miles…then swelling…creating the waves that break and crash on the rocky shore where I am out …reaching in the dimness…trying to find my way along the winding shoreline–the line that draws us out, comes between us…and where we find ourselves beached.
I am out with lanterns….looking for myself and promise to fill this page (another page in my upcoming How Shall We Then Live zine). Tonight it is…yet…empty. Give me a little time to process.
What would you find if you went out on the rocks with lanterns? You could write, too…
This post is inspired by and dedicated to Christine Blasey Ford. I just finished reading her very brave and powerful, must-read book–One Way Back: A Memoir (2024).
